Recycling efforts at SOS have not changed, we are still picking up curbside recycling on your regular scheduled day.
Change is coming, but it’s not here yet! It is key to follow these simple recycling tips for success;
- Keep it clean. Recycling should be clean and free of any food. If you wouldn’t want it dumped out on your living room floor, it isn’t clean enough!
- When in doubt throw it out. We must change our recycling habits from “wishful” recycling and hoping that any item will get recycled if we just put it in the cart. This is what causes contamination and is a major issue for recycling programs across the nation. So, if you’re not sure if it goes in the recycling cart, it’s best to throw it in the garbage.
- Follow SOS guidelines to eliminate contamination. If it’s not a yes, in the garbage it goes. Download our easy recycling guide for a complete list of items we accept.
As standards for quality recycling increases, SOS’ objective is to keep you informed as we work to find solutions to provide the cleanest product possible. We encourage you to follow us on Facebook and check back our “Latest News” on our website for the most current information.
