On July 15th we held a groundbreaking ceremony for our brand new recycling depot and processing facility! We hope this facility will be operational in early 2020.
The seed for this facility was planted in 2016 when Southern Oregon Aspire could no longer accept and process more than 2 million pounds of recyclable material after 20 years of fulfilling this very important role in the community.
This new facility will allow us to process our own recycling material, quickly adapt to fluctuations and changes in the recycling market and allow us to expand the accepted recycling materials in our recycling programs as the market demands increase.
We are looking forward to bringing this facility to Josephine County and are grateful for the support from the Josephine County Solid Waste Agency, First Community Credit Union, S&B James Construction, and all the contractors working hard on this new site to make our dream a reality.
