Asbestos Information

The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has very specific rules regarding the handling and disposal of materials containing asbestos. DEQ also requires an asbestos survey be performed by an accredited inspector to determine the presence of asbestos in or on a structure prior to any demolition activities.

Southern Oregon Sanitation, Inc. does not accept any construction or demolition material at our transfer stations or in our residential or commercial containers without having an Asbestos Clearance Certification from a certified abatement company stating the material is asbestos free. The certificate is valid for one year from the date of the inspection and/or abatement.
