Trent Carpenter, General Manager

Trent Carpenter joined Southern Oregon Sanitation in 1993. Since then, he has earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Southern Oregon University and a management place in the refuse collection industry. Trent worked his way up from a landfill employee and driver to Office Manager, and is now positioned as General Manager. As part of the upper management team, Trent provides leadership to drivers in the field, staff in the shop and to personnel in the front office. He’s adopted the open-door, open-communication policy of the founding family and sees his job as establishing teamwork to promote the spirit of excellence.

Nicholas Fahey, Eagle Point Area Manager

Nick has worked in all of the Southern Oregon Sanitation service areas as a driver. Over the past 16 years he has amassed knowledge of each facet of the Solid Waste Management System. During his studies at SOU he worked for 2 separate Banks, a software company, and worked with SOS in several positions as needed, including Medical Waste, Front Office Customer Service and Transfer Station operations. He has provided detailed GIS route optimization studies, as well as annual reports for several of the municipalities SOS serves.

Karin Callahan, Controller

When Karin Callahan joined the SOS team in 2006, she brought a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Arizona State University, along with 30 years of accounting experience. Karin has worked for both small and large corporations during her diverse career, including a position as a financial analyst for BP. Just prior to employment with SOS, she acted as the accounting manager for a Department of Defense contractor in Reno, Nevada. With an analytic mind and a love of numbers, Karin has perfected her skills in budgeting processes, financial reporting and projections. She offers a hands-on, systematic approach to fiscal oversight and is always working to improve processes and understand what drives the numbers.
